Alfred Music Publishing, the world’s No. 1 educational music publisher since 1922, introduces an addition into the Alfred’s Artist DVD Series, the new-to-DVD instructional video Hot Rock Licks by talented guitarist Greg Howe.

Greg Howe is renowned as a master of jazz, rock, funk, blues, and fusion styles. He began playing the guitar at age ten, and started his career as a shred player on Mike Varney’s Shrapnel Records label in the 1980s. Greg developed a distinct style, fusing the jazz sensibilities of Allan Holdsworth with a bluesy vibe and using odd time signatures. Apart from his successful solo career, he has played with musicians such as Michael Jackson, Enrique Iglesias, *NSYNC, Justin Timberlake, Victor Wooten, and Dennis Chambers.

The one-hour instructional DVD, Hot Rock Licks covers a variety of subjects ranging for melodic warm-up exercises to some of Greg’s favorite licks. You’ll be guided through techniques such as alternate picking, three-octave scales, and four-notes-per-string patterns with the help of on-screen tablature, and learn exciting two-handed licks, how to use arpeggios, and other improvisational tool to help you create your own solos.
