On this dynamic DVD, Troy Dexter plays examples in the style of such rockabilly greats as Scotty Moore, Carl Perkins, Brian Setzer, Eddie Cochran and Duane Eddy. He demonstrates effects devices (tremolo, echo, reverb and distortion) and how they were used by each player. Troy also shows chord voicings and application, and the scales inherent in rockabilly. He gives examples of thirds and fifths, intervals, whole-tone licks, chromatic lead-ins, horn stab riffs, chord raking, vibrato bar techniques, bends, slides, shuffle rhythms and more. The accompanying booklet comes complete with easy-to-follow notation and diagrams that correspond exactly to the DVD.

Troy is a studio guitar player/record producer / composer for film, TV, and radio in the Los Angeles area.
He is currently in production of several new projects as well as his own soul/jazz/blues CD with his group "TROYZBOYZ" in his own studio "The Green Room".

Troy plays electric and acoustic guitars and most related doubles such as banjo, mandolin, dobro, bouzouki etc. He plays just about every style, sightreads well, and comes up with very clever guitar parts and solos.

He studied guitar extensively with Ted Greene before his untimely passing.

He also plays keyboards favoring vintage keys such as the piano, Hammond B3 organ, Fender Rhodes, clavinet, Wurlitzer etc. He has studied with Claire Fischer, Terry Trotter, Mike Melvoin and Joyce Collins.

Troy is a graduate of the reknown Dick Grove School of Music and was fortunate enough to have Dick Grove as his primary mentor for most of that time (1979-1984). He studied composition and arranging on a full scholarship and taught a guitar styles course while attending. He is very comfortable writing/arranging for and conducting any size orchestra.

Troy is also a programmer, engineer, mixer and mastering engineer.
