Chi studiando la chitarra classica, non ha patito un poco a imparate i pezzi sincopati di questo diffuso metodo sudamericano? 

Julio Salvador Sagreras (1879-1942)  – con le sue famose `Lezioni di chitarra` – ci ha svelato i segreti del percorso musicale che ogni allievo deve compiere per entrare nell’affascinante mondo della chitarra. Questa nuova edizione vuole portare un contributo alla riscoperta di questo metodo (così valido che ancora oggi insegnanti e allievi lo trovano utilissimo e insostituibile), grazie anche all’ausilio di un compact-disc con la registrazione delle basi orchestrali di tutte le lezioni, e di 24 duetti originali composti su altrettante lezioni. Pur rispettando l’impostazione didattica originale, questa nuova versione si presenta modificata nell’ordine delle lezioni. Suddiviso in sette parti, il metodo propone un percorso didattico ancora più efficace, affrontando le prime posizioni con molta chiarezza e procedendo gradualmente verso tecniche chitarristiche più complesse come gli arpeggi, gli accordi, le legature, gli studi, le scale e i 24 duetti finali. Questa nuova disposizione fornisce all’insegnante un formidabile strumento propedeutico dalla duplice valenza didattica: è possibile infatti procedere secondo l’ordine normale delle lezioni, o muoversi all’interno dei singoli capitoli, studiando separatamente le varie tecniche secondo i progressi e le esigenze dell’allievo. Lo stile di tutte le basi musicali è assai vicino alle tendenze musicali nelle quali si identificano i giovani d’oggi. Tali basi stimolano l’allievo nello studio e agevolano l’esecuzione, migliorando quindi l’apprendimento / Il compact-disc, infatti – sostituendo il vecchio metronomo – coinvolge l’allievo nello sviluppo del suo spirito musicale, conferendo consapevolezza armonica e ritmica attraverso varie soluzioni stilistiche d’accompagnamento che favoriscono lo sviluppo dell’orecchio musicale. NARCISIO YEPES , THE FINEST PIECES FROM HIS REPERTOIRE.  

Come compositore Yepes è l'autore del famoso pezzo "giochi proibiti". Lo compose per la madre quando era giovanissimo, aveva sette anni. E fu inserito nella colonna sonora del film Jeux interdits del 1952 diretto da René Clement, vincitore del Leone d'oro come miglior film alla 17a mostra del cinema di Venezia. E' ancora un mistero perché Yepes non si attribuì l'autorità di questo brano malinconico e sdolcinato, e inizialmente disse di averlo trovato. Sembra un poco come nel romazo "il nome della Rosa" del 1980 o nel "Baudolino" del 2000 di Umberto Eco, dove la storia inizia con la lettura di un manoscritto antico (che chiaramente è stato scritto dallo stesso Eco) ritrovato tra scartoffie impolverate in un vecchio baule ammuffito all'nterno di una cantina tra i ruderi di un castello abbandonato. 

Yepes suona a volte velocemente una scala cromatica solo con un dito e solo su una corda, per tutta la tastiera, potrebbe sembrare facile, ma non è così, quando si è abituati a suonare con 4 dita, bisogna fare attenzione a sincronizzare lo spostamento del dito, lo si vede anche nel filmato "Passepied di Salvador Bacarisse" a 25 secondi.

Der spanische Gitarrist Narciso Yepes (1927-1997) war einer der groBen Meister seines

Instruments. Sein Studium am Konservatorium in Valencia begann er bereits im Alter von 12

Jahren und war SchOlervon Vicente Asensio, der in diesem Band mit der Komposition Collectici

intirn vertreten ist. Ahnlich wie Manuel de Falla hatte auch Yepes eine starke Verbindung

zum Flamenco. Seinen Durchbruch hatte Narciso Yepes 1947 mit der Auffuhrung von Joaquin

Rodrigos Concierto de Aranjuez, das er 1955 auch auf Schallplatte einspielte.

Kompositorisch erlangte Yepes mit seiner Filmmusik fOr den Film Jeux interdits (Rene Clement,

1952) internationale Anerkennung.

Mit zahlreichen Transkriptionen erweiterte Yepes das Repertoire der akustischen Gitarre.

Um flexibler zu transkribieren, lie~ er sich 1964 eine zehnsaitige Gitarre bauen.

Der vorliegende Sammelband enthiilt die sch6nsten StUcke aus dem Repertoire des brillanten

Virtuosen Narciso Yepes, der neben Andres Segovia und Emilio Pujol zu den gr6~ten Gitarristen

The spanish guitarist Narciso Yepes (1927-1997) was one of the great masters of his instrument.

Already at the age of twelve he began studying at University of Valencia and there he was

a pupil of Vicente Asencio, who is presented in this volume with his composition Collectici

intirn. Like Manuel de Falla, Yepes was also closely connected with the Flamenco.

In 1947 Narciso Yepes had his breakthrough with the performance of Joaquin Rodrigo's

Concierto de Aranjuez which he recorded in 1955. As a composer Yepes achieved international

prestige with his score to the film Jeux interdits (Forbidden Games) (1952) directed by Rene

Clement.

Yepes enlarged (enriched) the repertoire of the acoustic guitar with numerous transcriptions.

For being more flexible, he created the ten string guitar in 1964.

The present volume contains the finest pieces from the repertoire of the brilliant musician

Narciso Yepes, who ranked among Andres Segovia and Emilio Pujol to the greatest guitarist

of Spain.

Empezo a estudiar en la universidad de Valencia a la temprana edad de doce anos, y fue

alumno en ella de Vicente Asencio, quien es presentado en este volumen con su composicion

Collectici fntirn. AI igual que Manuel de Falla, tambien Yepes mantuvo una estrecha vinculacion

con el flamenco. En 1947, Narciso Yepes dio un impulso decisivo a su carrera con la interpretacion

del Concierto de Aranjuez, de Joaquin Rodrigo, que grabo en 1955. Como compositor,

Yepes alcanzo la fama internacional con su partitura para la pelfcula Jeux interdits (Juegos

prohibidos) (1952) dirigida por Rene Clement.

Yepes amplio (enriquecio) el repertorio de la guitarra acustica con numerosas trasncripciones.

Paratener mayor flexibilidad, en 1964 creo la guitarra de diez cuerdas.

EI presente volumen contiene las mejores piezas del repertorio del brillante musico Narciso

Yepes, quien ha pasado a ser -junto con Andres Segovia y Emilio Pujol- uno de los mas grandes

INTRODUCTION
 

There is no music more naturally suited to the guitar than Brazilian popular songs. The universal appeal of the music itself and the popularity of the guitar as an instrument join to make the bossa nova a favorite guitar style throughout the world. It is not surprising that Brazilian music is so natural to the guitar when one discovers just how important the instrument is in Brazil and to her bes t composers. Antonio Carlos Jobim, one of the world's most popular songwriters, composes on both guitar and piano. Luiz Bonféi and Baden Powell, authors of many international hits, are both virtuoso soloists on the guitar. And there is something in the intimate sound of the instrument itself that lends perfectly to the subtle syncopations of samba and bossa nova.

This book has been designed not only to give pleasure to guitarists from average to expert playing ability, but also to serve as a method through which a player can learn the Brazilian style and gain enough understanding of it to arrange, compose, and improvise his or her own musical ideas within il. Going through the book will improve your reading as well as your techniques and musical expression. Perhaps the greatest difficulty for players not famjliar with the style is to get the "Brazilian swing." The following rhythm patterns contain most of the elements upon which this feeling is based. You can observe from the examples that the more complicated patterns are merely

combinations of the basic ones. Play the basic examples until they feel natural and then go to the more difficult ones. Then as you go through the songs you will find it much easier to understand how they are to be played.

Another important thing to remember is that the basic beat is almost always a "two feel". (Note that most of the 4/4 pieces are marked in cut time ¢ and have two half notes per measure in the bass making for a 2/2 feel.) The bass is usually on the beat, but the melody is often on the off beats. If some of these more syncopated passages give you problems, try playing the melody and the chord part un-syncopated first and then anticipate the melody part until it makes sense musically as it is written. That plus listening to the original recordings should help you acquire a natural feel for the music. As with any music you wish to learn correctly, study the difficult passages slowly and thoroughly until they are "under your hands." Feel free to change the fingerings if you find a better way. Those given here follow the patterns typical of Brazilian players and can be useful for your own arranging, composing, or improvising. In this collection there is a lot of variety of mood and feeling. So in each piece you learn, try to understand its mood and emphasize it as you play. By paying attention to the feeling and technical aspects of each piece you will grow both as a musician and guitarist.
